UVB narrow band lamp (NB-UVB) technology comprises a subset of the
UVB wideband, or broadband, spectrum centered at roughly 311 nm.
This is less than 1% of total range of wavelengths from sunlight.
Skin is most sensitive to erythemic response, (sun burning) at 297
nm, so narrow band phototherapy nearly eliminates sun burning (see
chart below). Since the wavelength is shorter, exposure time to
narrow band UVB phototherapy treatment lights can be increased.
This provide faster clearing and more complete disease resolution
than broadband UVB treatment. Neither broadband nor NB-UVB
require photosensitizing agents.

Indications. Phototherapy has been shown to be effective in the treatment of numerous skin conditions, including:
- Psoriasis
- Vitiligo
- Eczema
- Lichen Planus
- Pityriasis rosea
- Photodermtoses
- Atopic Dermatitis
- Pityriasis Lichenoides
