Treating morphea poses significant challenges due to its resistance to various treatment methods. A 64-year-old woman diagnosed with localized morphea based on clinical and histological assessments underwent treatment with narrowband UVB and emollients, resulting in positive outcomes. Following the treatment, objective observations revealed reduced plaque hardness, increased softness upon palpation, and decreased hyperpigmentation. Using a high-frequency ultrasound technique (18 MHz), skin thickness was measured, indicating a decrease from 0.4 cm to 0.25 cm within four months of therapy. This suggests that this treatment approach could serve as a viable option in managing morphea.
